John Channer Passes

I just became aware of the passing of John Channer. He died unexpectedly, after helping a neighbor get his car unstuck, during a Colorado snowstorm, on Jan 21 of this year. John was a well-known maker of bamboo fly rods, and an occassional contributor to this forum. I never met John, but he helped me and many others with our bamboo restoration and rod-building projects, both with his posts here, and through personal e-mails. He was very generous with his time and knowledge. I will miss him.

Sorry to hear this. I do remember him posting a bit, I just went and looked back at his old posts, he was only 57 years old, what a shame. [rodbuilding.org]
