i will be in the process of building 3 casting rods for bassin' soon. all of which will have micros on them - spiral wrapped. 2 are 7' med-hvy mod-fast action rods. the other one is a 6'6" med-hvy fast action rod. how many guides do i need for the 7 footers and how many guides do i need for the 6'6"? where approximately do i place the guides on these rods? what sizes do i use? are these just used for the running guides or can the entire set of guides be micros?
thanks!

Good starting place is -- one guide per foot -plus one, not counting the tip top. Then static test.
Check out the two articles on the Library page
