Is it normal to find EVA foam with such large inside diameters? I was looking around at some of the suppliers and the smallest ID I could find was 1/2". Does it come in smaller sizes or is there a way to deal with the large hole?
Thanks Mike Molenda Re: EVA foam id

It's available in smaller ID sizes. Keep looking. It's not hard to find.

Angler's Workshop carries 1/4" ID in the shorter grips, 3/8" in the longer stuff. Re: EVA foam id

Ok so I found some EVA at acid rod. Thanks for the link. I also happened to stumble on this hypalon stuff, any opinions on this material? Better than EVA? Heavier? Easier to work with? Re: EVA foam id

Hypalon is heavier, harder to shape but easier IMO to install (the I.D. stretches pretty easliy) and is much more durable. It has a spongy feel while EVA is firmer. Mark Griffin [] C&M Custom Tackle San Dimas, California Re: EVA foam id

I was going to suggest Acid rod. I order most of my stuff from them and couldnt be happier. I have never tried but I have heard that you cant bore out yphalon either, I just used some of the .250 ID foam on a .5 but by using a drill bit, and it came out great. A drill bit is about 4 inches, so I went through the back with a 3/8 and through the front with a 1/4 inch to get a taper. Digital calipers can be your best friend!
