For all you Bass tournament fishermen. Is there a maximum legal rod length that can be used when fishing Bass Tournaments, B.A.S.S., FLW etc ?
Will an 8 ft rod fit in most rod lockers - late model boats ? J.B.Hunt Bowling Green, KY Re: Legal Rod Length

An 8 ft rod fits into my locker and many of the newer model boats also, but not all.
8ft is the Maximum that is permitted in most bass tournaments with many company's making them 7'11" to 7'11-3/4 to be safe Re: Legal Rod Length

BASS has an 8 foot limit, but FLW has no length limit, I have a 10 foot float n fly rod ready to go for the Lake Keowee BFL. Re: Legal Rod Length

BASS Weekends Series:
7. TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT: Only one casting, spin casting or spinning rod (8 foot maximum length from butt of handle to rod tip) and reel may be used at any one time. I interpret this to also mean no fly rods. ----------------- AD Re: Legal Rod Length

Does anyone know which tournament series Sage had in mind, when they introduced their 7'10" Smallmouth and Large Mouth fly rods (with matching fly lines)? I seem to remember marketing copy that mentioned the 7' 11" length being tournament-comaptible. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 02/06/2010 04:07PM by George Forster. Re: Legal Rod Length
