I'm looking for some stabilized jade wood in 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" square.
Any body know where I can find some? I remember talk of a suplier of stabilized woods on here but am having trouble finding it using the search feature. Thanks in advance for your assistance. I found reelseatblanks.com but they don't seem to have what I'm looking for. Regards Dave Fishing is Life the rest is just Details Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 01/26/2010 01:39PM by Dave Orr. These are good folks and they're sponsors here. They'll also be exhibiting at the Expo. ............ Re: Looking for stabilized wood

i think you need to contact them to get material in the larger sizes. The web site only shows reel seat size blanks but I believe they have other sizes. Re: Looking for stabilized wood

Dave,
In my opinion the absolute best is "Wood Stabilizing Specialists, Intl" in Iowa stabilizedwood.com call Mike - 641 435-4746 His method produces the most thorough penetration of resins. But, be prepared - he is not cheap. Herb Re: Looking for stabilized wood

Thanks for the info Herb.
Money is not an issue on this build. I'm putting together a Sage Z-Axis 7136-4 Spey conversion and have some spendy cork, struble reel seat hardware and Fugi TYSG titanium sic's for it. I have nearly $300 in components already so a few more $$$$ won't kill me. :) Regards Dave Fishing is Life the rest is just Details Re: Looking for stabilized wood

Dave,
Reelseat blanks. com has some of their wood stabilized by WSSI in Iowa. Give Steve (reelseatblanks.com on the left) a call and he will take care of you! Great to deal with and great service Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Looking for stabilized wood
