I have always thought this was a remarkable blank in the 2 piece version. It casts nicely with anything from a 2 to 4 wt line. I accidentally caught a carp on it once, and the rod never felt close to breaking.
Has anyone built on the 4 piece version? How do the additional ferrules affect the action? Re: Forecast 6' 6" 2 wt

I built one last winter. Don't have the 2pc to compare to but this is a great small stream rod. I have a 3wt-dt line on it and it casts very well for a short rod. I have a lamiglas 7'-3wt 3pc that is a little faster but not much. I keep going to it (forecast)for backpacking due to 21" pack size. absolutely no complaints, used single foot alps guides. I'd have to look at my build sheet for sizes spacing and numbers.

Curtis:
What is the action like with a 2 wt line. Does it seem to be soft, or quick. I am thinking of another spin/fly and keep seeing posts of this blank, with 12" of handle was wondering what it may feel like. Bill - willierods.com Re: Forecast 6' 6" 2 wt

Bear in mind that I like slow rods. I think it is slightly underlined with a 2 wt, but it is able to make short casts with this line. The tip is not very soft. So, it doesn't really cast like a fast action rod.
It has a lot more feel with a 3 wt line, as far as I'm concerned. Re: Forecast 6' 6" 2 wt

I have built and fished both the 2 and 4 pc 662's and find very little if any difference between the two configurations. They are very sweet rods for small streams here in the Sierras.
Everyone who has tried one of mine has had me build them one usually going for the 4pc due to portability. To date I have built more than a dozen of them. Re: Forecast 6' 6" 2 wt

Phil,
Would you agree that it is better as a 3 wt? Re: Forecast 6' 6" 2 wt
