I enjoy building combination rods but in stead of the sliding rings,
I use an alum threaded sleeve real seat from older ice rods. I think the rods are from the old Herter’s catalog? I’m tired of stealing from one rod to build another. I’ve been using this type of real seat for 50 plus years, Wondering why some company hasn’t reproduced this type of sleeve? stan yerger Re: alum sleeve

Stanford,
A roll of electrical tape costs about $1.75 and will hold about 100 reels on a reel seat. If you don't like it, take off the tape and move it to wherever you want and retape it. Take care Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
