Hello,
I thought I'd call on opinions regarding the choice of blank to use for 6-10 kg soft plastics jigging. Target Australian species are snapper and cobia. Fishing water up to 30 metres, braid, and jigheads up to 1 oz. At this stage I'm inclined to use a spinning reel but I'd also like opinion on an overhead alternative. Thank you to you all in advance. Regards, Nick. Re: 6 - 10 kg soft plastics blank suggestions

I'm on the same quest myself to build a light but strong plastics rod for inshore kingfish, maybe something from the Samurai, range there doesn't seem be a lot of honest seven foot 10kg rods in the 6 to 10 range. Going somewhat shorter there are a few more blanks out there.About to head off trout fishing for four days but it will be interesting to see were this thread goes.
