I do much of my fishing from a sea kayak and find my old loomis GL3 blanks take the abuse well. Often getting tips caught in the mangroves etc. I like about a 5'11 ish rod out of the kayak. I have 2 blanks on there way for an new small spin rod 5'6"and a new plug caster at 6 foot that I will cut down by a few inches. I hate these new split butt designs for this type of fishing. I would be out with the hacksaw.6 to 10 inch butt is all that is needed for up to about 17 pound . My thoughts that is. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
