I am looking to build another crankbait rod for myself this year. I have a couple of 7' St. Croix in SCIV, but am looking for something longer. Any suggestions in the St. Croix line up? How about the Castaway blanks? Are the Castaways graphite, glass, or a mix? I checked them out on Swamplands site, just want a little more info on them if possible. Thanks in advance.

Trinity please use the Swampland Tackle Contact Us Link for detailed information on the cranking blanks via telephone contact.
[www.swamplandtackle.com] The multi modulus graphite XP3 Series of cranking blanks includes the 963, 964 and 965 in the eight foot lengths. There are many threads on this forum in the recent past discussing crankbait blanks. Do a search on the phrase "Crankbait Evolution" to get a good start. Re: crankbait rod blank

The Castaways have been very popular with my customers. The 963 is my personal favorite. It has a very soft tip, but enough backbone to handle bigger fish. As one of my clients said yesterday when he called me, "I never realized a rod could be that soft in the top and still have plenty of power to land big fish". He caught one over 8 using his 963 this past weekend and was calling to tell me how much he loved it. I often tell people the 963 is like the Loomis CBR903, 6 inches longer and a little more power. So, if you want more power than that, look at the 964 and 965. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
