Names of Japanese rod blanks that are not exported to this country?

I once heard of a couple of extremely well built Japanese rod blanks that are expensive and not exported to the US, but have forgotten their names. Is anyone familiar with any Japanese brands, or could throw out a few names they might be familiar with? Thanks,
Sanford Hochman

Sanford,
There are plenty of Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) rod brands that have become very popular here in the US, Jackall Bros, Nories, and Deps just to name a few more. You can check out Japan Pro Fishing on line to seem some examples, [www.japanprofishing.com] . Some of these rods are built in the same factories in Asia as rods made for the US market. T-Russell and Camelback blanks are a JDM blanks that I have not seen here.

Not only are the JDM rods popular, but so are the reels. You can check out Ichiban Tackle or Japan Tackle Shop on line to see some of the most popular JDM reels. Be prepared for a little sticker shock with the JDM stuff. It can be very pricey.

What I find very interesting is on some of the JDM stuff, you see a carbon content and a glass content advertised.

Sanford,

SEED is one that comes to mind for me. I thought they may have been available in the US though.

Cheers

Jason
