You have several options. The Clemens book, Custom Rod Thread Art is a good one, but you may find it hard to follow. Billy Vivona has an excellent book that many find easier to follow. You might like it better, or not.
If you can make it to the Expo you can watch folks doing these wraps in person. Or, post your approximate location and see if another custom builder here might be willing to meet with you and show you the ropes. ............ Re: beutifull but wraps

I agree with Tom.
An in person demonstration, or better yet - lesson is the best way to get going on these fancy wraps. Take care Roger Re: beutifull but wraps

Never underestimate the power of the demonstration.
I was loathe to try weaving (it looked WAY too hard). Then I watched Todd Vivian at Mudhole do a simple monogram. 1/3 of the way through the demo, it all "clicked." I said, "I can do this." In fact, I was able to "see" which threads needed to be moved and which needed to remain stationery to form letters without consulting a left list. I went home, made a simple loom out of scrap sheet plastic, and have been happily weaving ever since. Re: beutifull but wraps

I haven't watched them but there are a couple DVD's available too. Check with a few of the suppliers on the left. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: beutifull but wraps

Get some wood dowels and a few spools of thread and go for it. Billy V`s book is easy to read and comprehend. Practice on a dowel takes the taper out of the wrap and makes it easier to practice wrapping and packing. the wood also holds the tread a little better than a slippery blank. Once you get a rhythm going it flies by quickly. Look up the NERBS on the left and see if there is a gathering in your area. Priceless day if one is available. The ICRBE will have plenty of NERBS present and lots of thread flying !! Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: beutifull but wraps
