This will be my first attempt at marbling. My question is, when using Testors model paint, do I need to let the pigment settle to the bottom and pour off the clear, or just leave it as it is? any help would be appreciated. Re: Marbling question

Yep let the pigment settle and pour off the clear. It will probably take a lot less pigment than you think, and be prepared for it to thin your epoxy a bit also. Re: Marbling question

Ã…ctually it has already settled while sitting on your dealers shelf. Just try not to disturb it when you buy it and take home. An hour on the shop table and it will be ready for you to pour out the solvent and use the pigment. Re: Marbling question

Yes, pour off the pigment. Their metallics are great. For colors, I prefer TAP [www.tapplastics.com]; or Mudhole pigments. You can get TAP in highly concentrated pigment that will last you many years for a few bucks. Another great source for vibrant pigmrnts is any hardware or paint store that mixes paint. Many will give/or sell you small amounts of the pigments they use but you probably have to provide your own container (any craft store should sell small plastic bottles)
Thick pigments should actually thicken the epoxy Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
