I have the Seeker CJB90F blank (made spinning rod) that I plan to use as a surf and jetty rod. Have been told that the rod is not good for that application and need something else. I need your oppinion about the rod (blank) and what application is best suited for. Thank you Please keep the internet green! Recycle electrons. Re: Need your oppinion please regarding a blank.

Danny -
If you have made the blank up into a spinning rod = How does it feel to you? While I personally would opt for something lighter (smaller diameter butt section) why don't you go ahead and put a dummy weight on it and see how it feels to you? At 9 feet I think that would make a good jetty-jumper for 1-3oz baits for stripers - especially if the taper is fast (thin at the tip). Re: Need your oppinion please regarding a blank.

There is no one specific rod for a specific fishing situation. It's all based on what you like. It depends on your build, how strong you are, what style of fishing you do, bait, jigging etc. and even how you work your rod when you are fishing. That's way we are so lucky that we build our own rods. We get what we want. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
