I have a Green Bay themed rod to do for a customer. Question is....what thread colors finish out to close too, or exact, of the packers colors. Additionally what spray bomb brand/color comes closest to the yellow and green, customer insists on a painted blank and does not want black. Thanks....I'd like to avoid buying 10 cans of paint to get a close match if thats possible.

I am interested in this also as I have a Packer themed rod to build in the near future myself. I will not be painting the blank though.

Gents...

I did a Packer themed rod last year to the biggest GB fan in the USA..I think> LOL

I used Gudebrod SZ A, 5896 and Sulky 142 7007 for the GOld trim bands.

I also had some unique stickers made from the Decal Conection. All of the super bowl years, the year the pack becam the pack, and then the best season ever with the stats. Then, I had them make a "G". The same G on the helmet. This was about the size of a quarter. It was a surf rod so the butt diametr was real big and I could really dress it up. And, to top things off, I used a Rainshadow 13 foot RX7 forrest green blank they do not make anymore.

I had fun and he loved the rod....Good luck to you both!

Paul

Look into Gudebrod 468 with 209/6778 trim.

I have done several packer rods and have used the St. Croix SCV blanks when they were green.
Then, I have used some of the green rain shadow blanks.
I use the matching green guidebond thread that matches the blank.
Then, I use the emerald metallic green with the nicely contrasting gold metallic for butt wraps which is a near match to the team.

All of the clients have been well pleased.

The overall effect is a green rod, with alconite or the green holographic American tackle guides along with the metallic green and gold butt wraps.

No paint required on the blank.

Take care
Roger

I used Coats and Clark Trilobal Spark Gold and Gudebrod 5896 (Dark Green) to wrap this one for my son. The blank is Mudhole Custom Rod Builder in Green. The G is a finger nail decal from that infamous @#$%& site.

Billy,

Nice sense of humor there with the Guberod 468. Actually I will be using this on the rod. As the lady I'm making this one for is also now paying attention to the Vikings.
