Thread help!

Hello Everyone
My first post.
My brother asked me to replace a guide on his Penn Senator 3/0, and I'm not sure of the thread color number (I use Gudbrod) so any help with the color number of the thread (the red part) would be very helpful.
Thank's everyone, keep up the good work.

Bob.

Penn 3/0 is a reel.....but I'll assume it is mounted on a penn rod. If the color combo is black, gold, and red. I'd guess NCP 335 or 326.

Thanks Russell

The rod is a 3/0 Senator series with white under wrap with black trim bands a red or maroon over wrap, but I'm not sure what the number is for the red or maroon over wrap. I believe the part number
of the rod is: S-3230 RF, the rod is at home and I'm at work.

Thanks,
Bob

The scarlet, 326 I think, will be about the color on the "new" marker for new posts on this marker. If you use an regular thread it will turn to a maroon once the finish is on, about the color of your average red wine. You might call Penn. There are so many colors and brands and I haven't seen the rod.

Thanks Ken & Russell,
I just called Penn and am waiting for a reply.
The rod has a lot of yellowing and the thread is hard to match.

Thank's Again.
Bob.

It will be easier to match the under side. Once you cut the thread off, a long slice , try to get a large section off.

Hello Bill.
Unfortunately my brother did Not save the threads when the guide came off, so all I have is the other guide threads and they are under 20 years of yellow epoxy.

Thanks.

Bob.

Unfourtunatly, you have to give your brother the super good guy discount. It sounds like she needs a full rework, if the epoxy is that bad you may just want to bite the bullet and do them all.

Just tell him it is his birthday gift for this year..

Better yet, cut another guide off, look under it and match the thread color. If he wants to pay for all, give him a ( fair ) price.

Well I called Penn the day before yesterday at one number and they did not call me back, so yesterday I called them back and they told me I was at a wrong number to get the thread info and to call another number which I did and the guy there said he needed to research it, so I gave him my "E" mail address and he said he would "E" mail me with the answer, so far no answer. I guess I will have to guess if it is the 326 or the 335 as no conformation is forthcoming.

Thanks to all who chimed in on this subject.

Bob

Bob -
I re-wrap A LOT of Penn Senators. 335 is the color. Size D regular nylon is what they use.
