Howdy all ,

I just got given to me a Heddon Mark Brute #6272 5'10" Heavy action rod in near new condition . The only thing wrong with it is it is missing the tip top. My question is this does any body know what guides and tip top would have been orginally used on this rod ? All the other guides have no inserts ,But I would like to replace the tip-top with as near original as possible . All information will be Greatly appreciated .

Thank you in advance ,
Heath

I suggest you take a photo of the guides AND measure the tip diameter. Post a link to the photo (put in photo archive). Then someone will surely be able to suggest a matching top that is currently available.

Heath:

I may be wrong, but after looking at a number of Heddon rods at some of the on line @#$%& sites, these guides appear to be the old Perfection guides. I know that Angler's Workshop carry Perfection guides.

Pac Bay XBT series, Batson CBT series or Perfection Steel Ring will all look just fine on there.

Any good st. steel tip would work. Why not go with a carbaloy tip? As to what make of guides were originally there, I would say Mildrum or perhaps Allans.

Howdy Chuck ,

Since the rod is a Vintage rod I would perfer to keep the tip-top as orginal as I could . I reckon I am kind of strange that way .

Thanks ,
Heath
