I haven't built on a Dan Craft for a while, and haven't heard too much on the differences since his lineup changed. My first was the Sig V 8'" 3/4wt and is still my favorite rod. How does the new Sig V line compare to the old series? Are they comparable, or have the characteristics changed noticeably? Thanks. Re: Dan Craft Sig V - new vs. old

I don't think going to a 4 piece blank changed them any. I fish the older design 10 ft 3 piece 7 wt, a older 9ft 10 wt and a new 9 ft 6 in 6 wt 4 piece. Re: Dan Craft Sig V - new vs. old

Based on the CCS numbers that have been listed for both over the years it would seem that the action(where the blank bends) is very similar,if not the same, but the ERN(power) of the new blanks is not as great and the older 3pc ones.
If it were me and I wanted a new SIG V that was similar to the old ones I would move up a line weight with the new blanks.I would think a new model 9ft 5wt for example would be closer to the old 9ft(it's listed as 8ft9 but both of mine were 9ft long) 4wt than the new model 9ft 4wt would be.
