"Electric" decal info

I just wanted to kind of alert everyone on something that I discovered today. I have done a lot of the decals on the vinyl and metallic papers and have had NO problems. As you know, the manufacturer warns against the "archival" inks used by many printers (including the one I use) When I do decals, I generally do extras and I put one of the extras on a piece of scrap intending to use it as a sample. when I put it on, I set it aside and forgot about about it for a few days without applying CP or finish. I happened to pick it up today and it looked pretty good. I rubbed my thumb across it and the entire inked part rolled up and off in one piece. The ink was completely dry but just had not adhered well to the metallic backing. That must be why they don't recommend that ink on the metallic papers.

This is NOT a warning or anything as the decals work GREAT and once CP/Finish is applied they are about indestructable. I recommend them strongly BUT follow the precise directions in the RodMaker article or talk to the boyz (Lance or Bill) at Swampland Tackle

If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!!

That is great information Mike, the stuff really works great but ya must follow the read in Rod maker. You are also correct, Bill has been a HUGE help to me making decals.
