I had trouble with line sticking to a wet ultra-light blank with BLAG #4 running guides spaced at 6 inches when pitching 1/32 oz. jigs with 2 lbs. fireline. Last night I applied Ardent Line Butter to both the line an the blank and took it out fishing this morning. The line butter caused the water to bead up on the blank but a quick shake pretty much dried the blank off. No problems pitching!! The line butter is pretty greasy when you put it on and I am not sure I care fot that.

I would like to try some of the other line conditioners and was wondering if some of you bass fisherman could help me out.
Reel Magic?
KVD Line & Lure?
TangleFree II?
Anything else?
Any other thoughts.

I am also going to build to identical rods one with American Tackle micros and one with Pac Bay Minimas with a size 4 ring and the SV frame. Also since the tips weigh quite a bit more than the guides plan to use a guide as the tip. One can never have two many rods.

I would appreciate any additional thoughts and will report back after I fish the new rods, which probably won't be until spring.

Thanks
Jim

Bill Stevens' comment about the attractive force of the waters' surface tension got me thinking... soap breaks the surface tension of water. I rubbed a little hand soap (unscented) on the blank in the areas where I've had sticking and so far I've had no trouble but I've only been out a few times. I caught a bunch of one and two pound bass so if the soap is getting on the line it doesn't appear to bother those guys. I also caught a five pound catfish :)
