Just wanted you all to know that I will be out of the office from this point on and will return on Monday the 17th-- my eldest son is getting married this Saturday, and as the mother of the groom there are a million things for me still to do . You can still e-mail me your questions and send your orders and I will be answering them and sending them as soon as I return. Hopefully some more of you will have some thoughts on those North Fork Composite blanks that you would like to see me stock, so e-mail me and let me know., you will be under no obligation to purchase. Thank you to the many of you who have already responded to give me your selections and ideas.

All of you have a great week.
Sincerely,
Karen Hapka

Million things to do?? When I got married my folks just sat around and watched. But then again they had just shelled out 50K for my sister's wedding.

Congrats on the wedding.

Congrats to the future bride and groom, does that mean you now have a spare bedroom to stock more supplies?

congrats!

i didnt know that weddings cost that much in the States.. i was pretty amazed when my ex colleague in STL told me that a wedding would cost at least 25K .. considering that we hold ours in hotels most of the time, so that pretty much where most of our cost went to , venue and food..

My wife and I got married for $3k total. Her folks wrote me a check for the rest of the wedding fund.

Chris,
Weddings cost exactly what the folks involved want to spend.
Any one can get a marriage license for $25 - go to the court house and have any judge or justice of the peace marry them.
\
Total cost - under $100.

Any thing more than that is for the personal enjoyment of all concerned.

Good luck
Roger

Roger,

pretty much the same here .. the cert and JotP can be found at the same place, and for a minimal cost, we can get married.

Matthew,

my wedding was about US$20K .. but in our culture, we get cash back from the guest.. I believe Americans would normally have something of a bridal registry where the couple would scan the items they wanted and let guest know that wedding gifts can be purchased from a certain place? Sorry .. not too sure about this as I'm in Asia..

That sounds right but I have no idea. I wasn't involved in the planning of the event, just told when to be where and at what time. Easiest thing I've ever done.

Advise to you is to keep following those instructions and you will have a long marriage. (you might also have her pick out your close and let her tell you when you need a hair cut)
