I'm going to be doing some trolling with planer boards soon, which is something relatively new to me. Suggestions for blank sizes and actions would be appreciated. I've had good luck building some really nice and inexpensive trolling rods, so hopefully there are some good options out there.
Thanks, Joe -jb Re: Blank suggestion needed for small planer boards / trolling

You may want to look at the Batson "RDR" series of blanks.
They are light in the hand with a forgiving fibreglass tip area and strong graphite backbone in the butt area. We like to use an 8.5', and then run a 7' under it on the same side. The RDR86MH and RDR96MH are good all around trolling use. Multiple lengths makes stacking 2 or more boards on the same side a little easier. The 10' RDR is a good one for bigger boards or heavier lures and fish.
