best color preserver for black thread

i've been doing weaves with black background thread and had been using diamondite cp with very good results. since diamondite seems to not be available i'm wondering what other people prefer for this application? i just did one with chromaseal and was not as satisified with the amount of crystal formation on the black thread as i was with the diamondite.

My favorite was the old formula of the Gudebrod 811. Hard to find now though too but Billy still may have some.

I don't use color preserver on black thread, so the thread is a truer, darker black. Just my .02!

yeah, i don't either - unless it's on a weave. even if you try to keep the cp on just the colored threads it seeps out into the black ones.

AS RAy stated, I have a few bottles of the old GUdebrod 811S left, labelled Brilliance2. On black thread the 811 when applied too much, or if the threads are not packed tight, will hae what look like crystals or micro bubbles underneath the finish. If you are interested, here is the link to my page with the price: [northeastrodbuilders.com] contact me at xlrods@yahoo.com.

YOu could also look into ThreadMaster CP and see if that works for you.
