BLAG guide frames

I am curious what the Blag frames are constructed from since they do not appear to be magnetic like the BLG frames. Re: BLAG guide frames

I just checked one and you are 100% correct that is not magnetic.
According to Fuji, it is S4 Stainless Steel. Since it isn't magnetic, I believe that would make it 300 series stainless ... but I have no idea what particular class. Maybe Bill "Metallugist on Staff" Stevens will chime in and solve the mystery. Re: BLAG guide frames

Chances are it's 304 SS. All the lower 300 series, up to 310, have a small percent of Carbon , Minimum of .030 with a maximum of .090 percent. That small amount of Carbon probably can't be detected with common magnet. The "L" series, meaning Low Carbon, have a maximum of .030 percent. After 310 series they add Molybdenum.
