I'm green when it comes to cross wraps but very stuborn and determined. I realy like the scales pattern so I figure I'd try it. I can get the pattern but I'm not understanding the whole axis issue. I know what the axis is basically but I can't figure out the way to do multiple ones. If some one could point me in the right direction I'd apreciate it. Re: axis?

each pattern starts as a cross and the crosses are aligned along each opposite.
on a single wrap this means the 0 and 180 (top & bottom). A double wrap is wrapped on 4 axis (top, bottom, & both sides). Most scales wraps are done on 6 or 8 axis. BTW, there are 360 degrees in a circle and so 360 axis! Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: axis?

Each set of crosses will have 2 lay-out threads, one up the blank and one back down the blank
forming the "crosses" on 2 axis opposite each other. just add additional lay-out threads for each additional pair of axis (or rows) of patterns. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: axis?

I did that and it didn't look right. What is the order I should follow? Re: axis?

order of placement is a non-issue.
Try this. After placing the layout threads for a single wrap place the next set of layout threads in the middle of the existing crosses up & back. You will now see crosses on 4 sides of the blank and there will be twice as many patterns per row as there were before. Follow? for that scales pattern no. Of course it's a plus 1 pattern so as long as you follow
the given pattern progression it makes no difference which axis you do and when. Just be sure you complete the pattern progression for each layout thread. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
