I'm just wondering if anyone has used the revo toro and what their experiences were. I've had some bad luck with abu garcia in the past and im not sure if i want to spend 250 plus on one.

Herb,
I use them for all species in the chesapeake bay. Primarily rockfish, but also the smaller animals. I have no doubt they are up to musky torture.

Jason,
my experience is not with the Toro but I do have the "S" and STX and love both of them... they are a touch finicky getting them set but they cast better than almost everthing else that I have... I've got some tuned up stuff they wont hang with but I will say that I am VERY impressed with them for a stock reel. I have had ZERO issues with any of the reels that I have and to be honest I have not taken care of them the way that I should and they are holding up GREAT. I just need to get a couple premiers and I should be set.

Jason,
I have been using Garcia Record series reel for two years with no problems. I bought a Revo Toro 60 to use for salmon on the Kenai River , where I live, and so far it has landed two 40# plus kings and one that was 53 inches long that had to be released due to the June slot limit. Fish was between 60 and 65 pounds. Reel was the smoothest that I have used so far. I have since ordered another one for my wife. I have used Shimano Calcutta reels in the past and in my opinion this reel is superior.
