I replacing a guide on Loomis CBR843 crankbait series rod. It's kind of bronze or copper colored blank. The thread looks like candy apple red but it came off in pieces instead of all at once so it's hard to tell. Any of you guys repaired any of these and know what the thread is off the top of your head? David Page E-town, KY. Re: I need a thread match.

I used to outwrap for Loomis. The red they used was Gudebrod #326 in size B or if it is darker red it would be Gudebrod #206 in size B. I can't remember offhand which they used on that model. Thomas F. Thornhill Re: I need a thread match.

Thomas is the outwrapping for those rods still done by your landlord or did he get underbid also?
There are a lot of new rodbuilders on this board - tell them how many rods you can do in one day! Glad to see a post! Gon Fishn Re: I need a thread match.

Yes my landlord still outwraps for Loomis. Outwrapping is not bid on by outwrapppers, you just wrap for the price they offer or they find someone who will. Outwrapping pays by the piece so the faster you wrap the more money you make per hour. Now as to how many rods I can wrap in a day, on my best day I wrapped 120 ultra-lite spinning rods for Loomis in 10 hours. I have never wrapped that many since but that day everything went right. Lately I have only been outwrapping for C.F Burkheimer and his stuff take more time because he has much higher standards. At the start of the year I started working for Snake Brand Guides making agate stripping guides. Thomas F. Thornhill Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
