Is there any easy way to determine the material that a fishing rod blank is made from -specifically whether a completed rod has been built from fiberglass or graphite?
One of my friends has a number of old broken rods that he is about to throw away. I am looking for fiberglass rods to use to repair a couple of rods that I broke. Thanks Bert Nagy Re: Blank materials??

Look inside the butt, or sand into an area that won't matter. The sanding debris from carbon is black/grey, the sanding debris from glass will be white.
Make sure you are through the blank's finish coating - that always leaves a white residue. ............ Re: Blank materials??
