Who's got it?
I'm looking for some CG1 Grade rings and they seem to be harder to find than Unicorns. LOL I have a project coming up that desrves only the best. Please help. PS. It would be much easier if all the vendors would adopt the CG grading system. Hint, Hint.......................are you sponsors listening. Regards Dave Fishing is Life the rest is just Details Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/30/2009 05:45PM by Dave Orr. That is a hard one. There is no quality control. It seams like each supplier has their own idea of quality Do a search TK did a article on cork not to long ago Good Wraps Bob Re: Quality Cork...............

you mean this one Bob?
[www.rodbuilding.org] It doesn't help me find who has some quality cork for sale though. If the vendors would use the system to grade their cork maybe I could buy some with confidence. As it is it's just a roll of the dice. So if anyone knows who carries cork of CG1 grade I would love to know so I can buy some. Regards Dave Fishing is Life the rest is just Details Re: Quality Cork...............

REC Components (also a sponsor on the left) has some nice grade cork. They seem to hold a good standard of quality for their highest grade cork, although they call if Flor grade and not CG1.

Another vote for REC cork, I have a "Flor" grade grip from them, it was pricey but impressive quality. Re: Quality Cork...............

Yes I am. :) I'm just waiting for John to get his new 4-8 pound blanks in. I talked to John last week and he said they're on the rolling table now. He has told me that they should be available sometime this month. This is a new blank, and he is relabling the original ones built last year as 6-10 pound blanks. The new 15' CTS float blank weighs 4.0 ounces while the 15' Loomis GLX blank weighs 4.4 ounces. So not only is the blank lighter, but it has more power in the butt than the GLX. From everything I have herad from friends who have handled and fished the prototypes it's what we had hoped the GLX was going to be when Loomis announced it was building them.
