Several of the vendors carry the Fuji Plate seats in titanium (coating). They are pricey at about three times the cost of the black ones, but I figured I would try them hoping they weighed less. Nope! The black and titanium finish weigh the same to the gram. (34 grams). The color is beautiful though, but I'm not sure it justifies the extra cost. I was surprised because the titanium coated guides (ICMNSG) are lighter than the Alconites (MNSG) and thought the seats would follow. The difference in the ICMNSG and MNAG (alconite) could very well be the ring weight.

Really? Because I thought (and could certainly be wrong) that the SiC rings were heavier. I knew the Alconite rings are thinner and that is why the weight was less. Hard to compare apples to oranges.
BTW - Todd, glad to see you at Mudhole. You were always a great help while at Lamiglas. Thanks for your contributions! Scott Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
