Hi,
i just want to ask you one question. I would like to do Tiger/Holo wrap but I don't know if I have to use CP before clear finish on underwrap and same thing on overwrap. Thank you for helping Jerry Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/21/2009 07:16PM by Jerry Hirsch. Re: Tiger/Holo wrap

You can do it either with or without CP. I've tried it both ways and like mine without CP, but I've had good results both ways. Re: Tiger/Holo wrap

With regular nylon thread you'll get a brighter and more substantial effect with CP. More subtle without it.

Depends on your thread. If you use Mederia - yes you will need CP - obviously. Using the same color in nylon versus NCP thread you will get different results. With nylon the white in the bottom layer will show through and the color of the top will be a little darker. If you use NCP thread the black in the bottom layer will be more prominent.
In this tiger I used Nylon Crimson and no CP. See how the white shows through more, but the red is a little darker. The trim wraps are also Crimson, but they are wrapped over white and no CP is used. [www.rodbuilding.org] Somewhere I have a picture of Crimson NCP - I'll have to post that later. The point is the CP or the use of NCP thread is a design choice in the wrap. The lack of translucency or presence there of causes different effects. My next one will be Black and white on the bottom, with brown and black classic gudebrod over the top size A nylon - I'm not sure what is going to happen with that one - I'm trying to capture the effect the color of a halibut on this stick Thank you whoever you are WWW.WeSeekHerRods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
