St Croix has a wide range of very good blanks made in the USA. Lamiglas as well as others also manufacture here but may carry some imported blanks along with their own. Others may have suggestions as well. Stan Grace Helena, MT "Our best is none too good" Re: need advice on rod blanks made in USA

These is one thing that Joseph brings up - I am wondering if the US manufacturers are or have already used this process. Many of the high end light weight bass production rods brought into this country are made using a different metholology of construction. The rods are not one piece construction They are utilizing the same back end units on many different power and action blanks which is resulting in a lower weight total build. They are actually saving money by using one rear unit consisting of of split grip, trim rings and seats on several diferent blanks. I believe some of the "joins" are under the butt guide and some are internal to the seat/foregrip - has anyone torn one of these things down to take a look see? Sure would make the build simpler if it would work - Re: need advice on rod blanks made in USA

Loomis continues to make blanks in Woodland, Wa. Others would be Seeker, Calstar, Talon, Rogue, Lamiglas, St. Croix, Steffen Brothers, Sage, some Orvis, some Powell, some Winston.

From what I understand, St. Croix has the best technology currently in the business in their Series IV and V blanks. I don't build on them, but I doubt you find many people that have that don't like them. Re: need advice on rod blanks made in USA

As far as High Mod graphite blanks many US companys have good ones. The exception would be Seeker who makes composite or all glass blanks only(Although the Super Seeker line could be considered a high modulus blank). Lamiglas, St Croix and Talon make some great high modulus blanks that I have tried, not sure about the other companys. Re: need advice on rod blanks made in USA

Hi Joseph,
The blanks that Lamiglas imports from China have a ISU prefix. The others are made in Washington. You didn't mention which island you are on. If you're on Oahu, you can get help from: Charley's - small stock on hand Roy's - orders as necessary Brians - orders as necessary Both Roy & Brian are waiting on newly developed rods for the Hawaii market. They were both instrumental in helping to design the new rods and blanks. We displayed about 50 different Lamiglas rods and blanks at the Hawaii Ocean Expo that was held the previous weekend. jJseph when you look to the left of the screen what do you see? There is a long list of sponsors of this board who sell blanks to rodbuilders. If it is not visible on your computer screen you need to check the settings on your browser settings. Re: need advice on rod blanks made in USA
