Ridge,
You can go to your local surplus store and pick up any of several different AC motors - similar to sewing machine type motors that will work fine.
Normally, you can pick them up for a few $$.

If you can't find any, drop me an e-mail - I think that I have a half dozen- so I could part for one for a reasonable price.

Take care
Roger

p.s.
Most of the common rod wrapping motors simply use a sewing machine motor. Another inexpensive source is your local good will. Find an old sewing machine that has a working motor and you can likely pick up the entire machine for less than $10.

Ridge,

Worst case for a new Pac Bay Motor (Part# RW-1L/WRAP-MT) is about $37.00, IF that's what's wrong... Could be a bad speed control or foot control which are considerably less.

Prices for most of the common parts are about 2/3 of the way down this page --> []

If the wrapper's a great deal and you have someone that knows there way around a volt/ohm meter, you can fix it up pretty cheap. Like Roger said, you can probably even find a sewing machine motor that will work. Just get someone to check it out with a meter and you might get away cheaper than you think.

New sewing machine motor was $25 if the free one doesn"t come through. Ridge keep up the good work. At 15 you are off to a great start in a wonderful hobby.-Bill

Ridge - I see you are in Central Florida. Give the folks at Mudhole (in Oviedo) a call, they may have parts to test what is wrong.
