I just aquired a neat early(?) intewr-line rod , it is six ft. long , two peice , looks like `Howald' style glass rod. A decal stating TRU-FLITE Inc. Cleveland, Ohio , another decal says"rod designed for lures quarter ounce or more" , are on the topside of the rod. The handle is chrome and has a large offset to accomadate the line going through the handle , the grip is a `vinyl'type material and is white , there is a tension opperated trigger that holds the reel in place and tight. The tip-top is of stirrup style , with what looks like a carbide ring. Has anyone seen anything like this? and know the age & origin? It ain't no DIAWA!

You could be wrong about your rod being a Diawa as Diawa holds several patents for an interline rod strating in the 90's

One of the most interesting points made in the text referred to the internal line path reducing friction with the air that external guides imposed on a rod. Very foward thinking for that day and time.
