I usually use TSG,s on my fly rods. Thinking of giving the TLSG,s a try. Are they lighter as there appears to be less frame?Any feedback from those who have used the TLSG,s would be appreciated. Re: TSG or TLSG ?

Very interesting. I wonder if there is any difference in 6's as thats what I usually use. I have never did a comparison myself. I am far from being cheap but you could save a pile of money. Re: TSG or TLSG ?

There will be more of a differential with the larger frames due to mass - the larger the fame the more differential there will be.
This may help you a little - I just weighed three number six Fuji titanuim fly guides SIC at 0.4 grams - Compared to three Alconite number six fly guides at 0.6 grams so the is a 50% difference in comparing those two. Your call - unless your are finiky the thread and finish at each attachment point could weigh more than the guides to start with. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/04/2009 05:25PM by Bill Stevens. I myself don't like the Alconites only because the ring on there fly guides is very close to the blank, unless they changed.
The American tackle Ti guides I like, price is nice also, that helps. Here is a site with guide weights: [rodcomponents.hostrator.com] Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
