Finish still tacky

First coat of finish is still tacky after one week. Two possible reasons - did not measure A and B correctly or did not let it mix completely. What to do? Can another coat of finish(mixed correctly) over the tacky finish correct this problem?

Measure correctly, fold mixture at least 3 minutes. Avoid whipping, Wiping gets air bubbles. To much harder is generally the cause of a tacky finish

Too much Resin could be the cause too, no?

Turn the heat up in the room. Put it into the 80's and see if it changes the tackiness.

If it is still tacky after a week my bet is it will not cure at a higher room temp, unless the room is very, very cool. I would try another coat on top. Measure accuratrely and mix slowly for several minutes.

Since my article came out, I am surprised at how many build in sheds, garages, basements, etc that are less than optimal, temperature wise.\\

Thank you all for your input. Forgot to mention that the finish was mixed on a electric mixer in cup with ball bearing in a 75 - 80 degree room that is only used for rod building controlled by electric baseboard heat. Will get that new finish mixed correctly and complete this rod.

Thank you
Dan

Mix at least 2 cc's each of resin and hardener. Trying to mix smaller amounts leaves very little margin for error.

Another thin coat, and you should be OK. Good luck. Temp wasn't the issue.
