For that line weight, lure weight and prey an 8 or 9 weight fly blank may be a better choice

After reconcedering , Eugene on a 8-9 wt fly rod is better than my 5wt.

I am not sure what you mean by "medium action", but there aren't many four-piece designs on the market. However, there are PLENTY of options in three-piece designs ... American Tackle, Batson, Lamiglas, St Croix, Sage - just to name a few.

My personal preference is toward the St Croix SC2 Inshore Travel series. There are six different designs, ranging in length and line weight.

Good morning,

Thank you. That was a fall back option.

Our rod building world has expanded so much in the last 10 years that there are many products out there that are regional. Many times those of us outside a region have no idea of products sold by small or starting companies. I was hoping for such a company to surface to my request.

I will let you know what happens.

I am surprised that more travel blanks have not surfaced these days. I hear of more anglers traveling all over the world to go fishing. It would be interesting to know how many of the Fuji ferruled reel seats have been sold. When they first came out I had a plan to take 2 or 3 most used blanks in my area and make several butts in different lengths that could be interchanged with the top sections. I looked for a custom travel case that the tops and butts would lay in along with several reels. This would be about 4' long. Never got it off the ground. Maybe in the future.

Have a fine day.

Capt Neil Faulkner

Hi,

Yes, a 3 piece is also an option. Like the rest of you I have to walk this customer thru the process. I always try to find what they prefer. When it is not possible and I explain why then they are more open to suggestions.

Always a pleasure.

A side note. It looks like no snow is in our forecast for this Friday so I may finally gey to the ICRBE. Yeah baby!!!

Hi Karry,

Wow! Did I miss those or what. Even when I just went back I had trouble finding them. I guess I skip over the tops of the pages and wiss what is at the top. Thank you.

Nice selection of 3 and 4 pece blanks.

I will check out the blank in the Anglers Workshop catalog.

Thank you all.
