I am almost done with a cross wrap on my rod and there a couple of areas i would like to adjust and pack the threads.
In your experience if I put a dab of Chromaseal at those points and I am using metallic thread will the thread colors be different in those areas after I apply the epoxe? Thank you for any input. Tom Re: Chromaseal / Metallic Thread

Have not used Chromaseal but I can't see why there would be any problem. Metallics do not need CP because metal does not soak it up, I often fasten my thead ends down with super glue when using metallics and have also used clear finger nail polish to keep threads from moving in cross wraps. After putting on the rod finish you cannot tell it. That's why I can't see any more of a problem with Chromaseal. Re: Chromaseal / Metallic Thread

I can't say for sure on metallic, but I have found that when I have applied several coats of chromaseal to NCP thread it ends up a noticeably different colour to that which has no CP applied.
I use the CP on weaves to help seal any air bubbles and help when packing, but you must also apply the same amount to any adjacent wraps using the same colour. A small amount just to hold some threads may not be noticeable, but I'd try a test piece. cheers, Owen Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
