Folks, Have you ever been dragged by your significant other to the outlets for a shopping spree? Me neither!!!!! Well, I was buying one of those Peninni makers the other day in a kitchen shop. I was single tasked when I went in but then something caught my eye. It was the Crem Bruele' maker. It is a blow torch that is perfect for flaming finish and it comes with 4 ceramic crem breule cups that are ideal for mixing finish. The torch throws a perfect fame for getting those bubbles out of the finish and the cups are re usable! All that for 9.99. If you have any of these outlets that have a store that sell kitchen supplies, take a look.

I'm not sure what Crem Bruele' is, or how it's made but I've been using a simple little butane torch for years, one of those like you would buy for soldering. It's about 5" tall and has a round stand. I think its made by Master Appliance or something. It wasn't particularly cheap back then but they've gotten cheaper in later years. Radio Shack also used to sell small pocket torches that work well but I've not seen one of those around for quite some time.
You do have to be careful with the butane powered torches, they get way hotter than needed. I do like the pinpoint flame though, it allows you to control exactly where the flame contacts without damage. Re: Torch and Finish mixing cups

I use a butane torch, I use a blue flame. To make sure you are the correct distance from the wrap. I place my hand in front of the flame. I just wont to feel the heat without burning my hand. This is the distance you wont to be from the finish. Also you wont to keep the flame moving any longer than2 seconds and you just cooked your finish or melted your blank. I would practice before going on to a good wrap.

Joe, it is that desert that is like pudding that has the crust on the top. They torch it to make the sugar crystalize, but thats not important here. Yes its that same torch. 5 inches tall with a base and the flame is butane and can be adjusted with the knob on top. They are normally like $25.00 each and in that shop, they are $10.00!!!!!! A great deal! Re: Torch and Finish mixing cups

You really are intent on getting me to drive over that bridge! Which outlet? Delaware or on "my side" of the bridge? Re: Torch and Finish mixing cups

Ken,
I was in the one in Rehobeth, but they have those stores in any of the outlets that I have seen. Chesapeake gourmet in Queenstown, there is one I think on 95 up in Havre de grace. There are outlets in Cumberland, aren't there? Just a thought. Re: Torch and Finish mixing cups

What brand is on the one you bought? I saw one this afternoon in a dollar store here that says Bonjour on it, it's identical to the one I have that says Master Appliance, but for $9.99 rather than $55 on the tool truck.
Running down to DE don't make much sense for me here, I'd spend the difference on gas and toll. The drive usually offsets the savings in sales tax for something like that. Re: Torch and Finish mixing cups
