I want to build a pair of ultra light rods with small spinning reels for perch fishing, with fugi guides, my question is would you still use the new concept high frames single foot or would the regular height single foots work, I dont live any where near a rod building supplier, so going and looking is out of the question any help thanks, scotty. What Joshua said . And use Fuji BLAG fly guides for your running guides, #6 or #5's are good. Or you could go Micro. Re: spinning guides

The smaller the better for running guides on a ultralight if you have no knots to pass. Also perhaps a micro sf used as a tip top. Re: spinning guides

I'm going to suggest looking at wire-frame guides for light weight and a very different look and feel.

You need to set the rod up and use whatever guides are required to maintain the desired line path.

I built an ultralight spinning rod for exactly your applicaiton, using Batson "M" ultralight guides, matching single foots, and the NGC system. Its came out great. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
