For all the bass fishermen out there. Can you recommend a good dual purpose blank? (worm fishing/spinner bait)
Thanks Re: Need blank recommendation

To each his own,,,But here is what I have been using when someone wants an "all around" Bass rod for worms and spinner baits and doesn't want to spend much money.
I have been using Mudhole's Custom Builder Series IS701M , 14 - 18 lb. These blanks are very straight with a very good finish and light as a feather. Just depends on how much money the guy wants to spend. Re: Need blank recommendation

Luis,
It really depends on the fisherman and the environment. Personally, I like something with a lure rating of around 1/4 to 5/8oz with a fast to extra fast action. This is very suitable to the size of spinnerbaits and worm weights that I normally use, as well as the waters I fish. A more typical recommendation would be a mag bass type blank say, 783 or 843, with a 1/4 to 3/4oz lure weight and fast action. Joe Re: Need blank recommendation

It depends on how much cover you're fishing. My home waters have little or no cover, so my vote for an all-around worm/spinnerbait rod is a St. Croix 3C68MXF. This rod does extremely well as a topwater, jerkbait, and fluke/sluggo rod also.
If you're fishing lots of cover, then you might be better with a 3C70MF, or 3C70MHF. Re: Need blank recommendation

Luis, Andrew's recommendation of the 3C68MXF is one of the best blanks out there! It sounds like the perfect choice for ya.

What size or weight. Big difference in a 1/4 oz and 1 oz spinnerbait or shakey head vs ole monster.
Id go with Swamplands MB784, 785, 844 or 845 Rogue MB 703, 704, 705 St Croix 3C(66 or 70)MHF or 3C(66 or 70)MF ----------------- AD Re: Need blank recommendation

Thanks a lot for the recommendations. I guess I should had specify the weight and condition.
I will like to be able to chuck from a 1/4 to 1 oz . The conditions are moderate to heavy cover mainly brush and aquatics vegetation(SP) grass. I will like to stay around 50-80 dollars, maybe a little more, I'm more concern with quality. Thanks. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
