Wire Frame Boat Guides

Looking a the best wire frame boat guide out there. I see that Amtak has a wire frame with a carbide ring and that Perfection uses stainless steel for ring and frame and that both use silver solder for the joints. Customer wants the toughest thing out there for a no nonesense rod that can take abuse (he has ruled out any guides with inserts). Learning towards using the Amtak guide, but wanted to see if anyone here had a suggestion for anything else. He will be using braid and is aware that the line might etch the ring.

Thanks in advance

He won't "etch" or groove the carbide ring. Hard Chrome Over time, yes, it will groove.

You'd think that these [www.jannsnetcraft.com] , or this type of guide, would be as bullet proof as you could get.

I've had the wire guides give out once at the solder joints in Mexico and seen a few others fail over the years, the Pacific Bay BRBHG type guides are a one piece seamless frame.

I run a bead of super glue around some ceramics when I see gaps between the ring and the frame and have never had one pop out.

What's the guy planning on fishing for...Volkswagens? :)

Jan those have inserts in them - he doesn't want to fish any guides with inserts has he has had them crack. Volkswagons, well we do have a few in our waters, but mainly he wants something that won't break if it gets mis treated on the boat

These are not wire frame and have a ring, but still take a look at them :
