A buddy of mine wants me to fix a pair of rods he wants to use for crank baits. He bought two older eagle claw rods for 6 bucks. the reelseats are busted and they are plastic. Pistol grips I can find but the rods are only 5'6'' and if i put a regular pistol grip it will shorten the rod down to 5 ft. Does anybody make a pistol grip that is the arbor style like what is on there so I can keep the rod the full length.
Or is there any other way I can make a good extension on which to build the grip? Re: pistol grip replacement

Build the grip and reelseat on a light wall piece of aluminum tubing than oversleeve this to your blanks. Re: pistol grip replacement

Ked,
You can also use a scrap piece of blank that will fit up inside thw current blank snugly. Make sure that you have about 1 and a half inches to fit up inside the butt of the blank. Rod Bond the pistol grip and reel seat on the scrap then arod bond it up into the rod blank. Let your fore grip hide the transition. Bill in WV Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
