Can anyone recomend a nice wood rod display rack - looking for something for the rod shop.

Somewhat compact would be nice, as room is always tight.

Thanks,
Marc

I've built a couple for myself and different family members.
I usually use 1 piece of 3/8 red oak plywood (I like the look of red oak) and build a center cabinet w/ doors (much like an entertainment center) for holding reel boxes, oil and grease, misc, tools for tuning and repairing reels. I just extend the bottom out past the cabinet and add hooks on the top to hold the rod.
You could do something allong those lines and instead of doors on the front, leave it open for pics. of customers using their custom rod.
Just a thought.

The ones that Bill and Lance brought to the last event in Charlotte are very nice primarily because the rod butt is right down on the floor so you can stand fly rods up and make full use of whatever ceiling height you have.

The style of rod racks available for Swampland at the ICRBE only are linked:

The racks are unique in that the reels can be left on the rack. We will only bring enough for those who preorder via email to the Swampland Contact Us phone number or email.

Models for 8, 16 and 24 rods are available and are very economical - almost a steal.

Please contact us if you would like to have one made custom for you in the sizes listed.

Marc,

I just bought one from Basas Pro Shops. it holds 24 rods is circular, only 14`` of floor space and the rod butts are a 1 1/2'' off the floor. I am very satisfied with it.

The local sporting goods store that I do repairs for had a nice Ande factory rack that I thought would look good in MY collection. I asked politely and left with it in hand. Then I had a local signmaker do an insert to replace the factory signage - cost $20.

Here's the result ... [www.rodbuilding.org].

32 rods and a real nice item at shows.
