How does the "industry" spell a dead stick rod? Deadstick? Or dead stick?

Not quite sure what you are asking? Deadstickign is an effective technique for drifting FLuke. YOu want a rod which has a parabolic bend which allows the rod to load up, and have a lot of recoil to bounce teh sinker/jig along the bottom. YOu also want to stay away from graphite since you might get hung up and not notice it and the rod will run the risk of breaking.

You're asking Billy how to spell? What are you, nuts? (just kidding, Billy).

I would guess that there is NOT an industry-wide standard -- I doubt that anybody has cared enough to campaign for one. So do whatever you want, or what you feel looks best. If it were up to me, I'd use two words: deadsticking, all together, doesn't look right to me.

From what I have seen in articles written on the technique, I have seen to 2 ways, deadsticking and dead-sticking.

Here in ice-fishing country, deadsticking (as I've most commonly seen it spelled) is an effective presentation for icing finicky walleyes and crappie.

I say 'deadstick'

Wait - how do you spell crappie, crappy, croppie ????
