Just received my new Rodmaker Magazine. Kevin, your tutorial on Abalone Veneer Inlays is fantastic! Can't wait to give it a try.

I read it last night and thought to myself the same thing. From the article it appears the people working with the stuff are a little tight lipped. Thank you Kevin for breaking the cycle and sharing. Also the background info at the beginning made for some good reading.

It is my pleasure, folks. Quite an honor actually. I have had the copy for a couple of weeks now and have it by my chair in the den. I have spent more time looking at the cover than I have the TV!!! I am really ready for the rodbuilding lull to be over. Just a function of the time of year and the economy, I guess. I need work!!! LOL.

Enjoy it folks. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.

Kevin;
I just finished your article. Very well written and informative.

Thank you for sharing and adding another option to what we as builders can do to further enhance our creations.

I’m thinking it would look really sharp under hook keepers and also aid in protecting the blank. I usually use thread and epoxy for this so I don’t think it would add much if any weight.

Steve,
It does look sharp as an underwrap for hook keepers. Take a look in the photo section. I have one posted there for your viewing.
