Finishing Motor Question
Posted by: Roy Zeringue (---.btr.bellsouth.net)

I am looking to buy a finishing motor similar to flex coats, but one with a slip clutch. I would like it to be able to rotate about 18 RPMs'. \

The idea of being able to stop the rod momentarily by holding it seems to be a usable function.

Thanks

Roy

Get one by Batson or PacBay. Most sponsors carry them. The one you are talking about reverses direction when stopped for a second.

To my knowledge, Flex Coat's slip clutch is the only one available in this field.

FLEX COAT Slip Clutch
This slip clutch can be attached to any finishing motor with a 1/4" shaft and enables you to stop the rod without stopping the motor during Flex Coat application. This is essential for rod inspection and important touch ups with high speed motors of 60 to 200 rpm. It also makes coating guides with under-wraps a snap. The Flex Coat Slip Clutch is used by many of the high production rod manufacturers.

Bob Balcombe,

Click on this link and scroll down to see the FLEX COAT BR72 DRYER, which has the slip clutch on it. It's neoprene diaphragm with a hole in the center. The hole is smaller than the rod butt, so that the diaphragm grips the rod, but will still allow you to manually rotate the rod,
