Need Information.....

I'm trying to find the factory specs on an old spinning rod. It's a Shakespeare Wonderod, Model A-622, Kwiktaper, 7' long. It's a white, 2 pc., fiberglass rod with maroon and black wraps. It was passed down from my Grandfather and is in mint condition. I'd like to start using it if I can determine what kind of set-up it was designed for.

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Stan Higdon

Those rods were made during the 1960's I believe, super fast actions, very impressive rods for glass models. I assume that it's a spinning rod.

I don't have any of the older Shakespeare catalogs any longer, wish I did.

Stan....Your email is hidden....I will check the dusty cartons in the a.m. and see if I still have any info on the sixties.

Tom is correct ,the Wonderod in those wrappings were from the sixtys and were a fantastic spin rod in fiberglass and the Kwiktaper made for a
super fast action. I can not truthfully say but I do not recall bass casting rods by Shakespeare in those days. [before UGLY made the scene]
You have a wonderful rod there Stan....also as I recall the line weight was not on the rod back then but was on a little tag as 4-8 lb. and no lure weights were shown....
