Always listen to your mother

She told me, but , nooooo, I did not listen again!!! She always said,``KEEP YOUR HANDS TO THEM -SELVES``.

That was good advice as I was growing up. It is still good advice today.

Just two hours ago I epoxied up the guides and all, I built an epoxie ramp to the fore grip. When I came back to look at it I just had to touch!!!!!

I wish some one would slap my hands now!!!!!

I think Dad was right. I AM A BIG DUMMY!!!!!!!!!

i think it will be OK though, phewwww

Relax! Everything is gonna be alright.
1) First call your 120-step program sponsor (you have joined one right?)
2) Sit down, take your meds ( you did re-fill the prescription?) hope so!

DO NOT BEAT UP on yourself! Your not the only one to fall off the wagon.
Been there, done that.

I don't know of any rodbuilder who has not done that at least once.
It's part of the obsessive compulsive disorder we call rodbuilding.

Many fine artists; painters, sculptors, etc. will put their thumbprint on their pieces to authentic them. Why not fishing rods too? :)

Bill;
As Ray said ,we have all done it once at least. I did it to a ramp about 4 days ago. I touched the finish left in the cup and didn't leave a print. I touched the ramp and left a print. I had to put another coat on it anyway.

As others have said, you're not the only one. A little heat will sometimes fix it, but sometimes not.

Bill,
I always have the same urge.
To solve the problem, I keep the mixing cup - in which I mixed the last coating - under the drying rod.
If I have the urge to "touch", I touch the mixture in the cup to check on the status of the cure.

I had the same issue a long time ago, and this was my solution to the "touching issue".

Take care
Roger

I do the same thing with the foil I used to pour the epoxy on. I always keep them near the rod on the dryer so I can check if it is done or not. I have that same strange need to touch the epoxy and see if it is dry enough .
