Gidday Lads
I have just set out the guides for a 7'6" St Croix light spin rod with an extra fast action. I have ended up with 10 guides plus the tip. This seems like too many guides but with less, I get sharp angles between guides on the main curve. Is 10 plus tip too many on a 7'6" rod? The handle is short at 12" overall. The NGC didn't work well. I ended up with vey odd spacings. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris Re: Guide Number!!

The NGC, if set up per the instructions on the library page or in RodMaker Volume 10 #4, will work perfectly and you won't get any odd spacings. Are you trying to use somebody's generic guide spacing chart?
10 guides is more than you need on a rod of that length. 7 or 8 plus a tiptop would suffice nicely. ........... Re: Guide Number!!
